This is not just another blog about poor reporting and journalism. The authors are three girls involved in or have been involved in various roles of news production.
Voter Blues
Worked for six years in local news production and promotions. She has done everything in video production from running a teleprompter to producing video. She has worked for local news, state government and local government. She has a BA in Communication Studies and currently works as a video producer and social media guru. Her latest venture, besides this blog, is as a member of a reader panel for a local paper. She is married with two kids and a cat.
Annie
Spent 6 years in television production on the marketing and promotions side of the biz. She has written and produced more promos and public service announcements than any sane human being ever should. She’s worked for three different news organizations in Atlanta and Birmingham. She has a B.A. in Communication, an M.A. in Communication Management, and is currently working on a Ph.D. in Communication and Information Sciences. She discovered she was much happier studying news and television than she was working in it. She’s engaged to a former news radio anchor/reporter, is an avid photographer, and has two crazy cats.
that girl
Is the oddball. She did not spent 6 years in television production in marketing and promotions. Nor does she own a cat. She started working in television when she was a kid in college, managing staff and programming while also working with live sports production. She began her professional career working on the production side of local television news. Years later, she managed a government access TV station. Her current incarnation is that of an instructor at a state university. She is married and is the parent of a mini dachshund.
